With new technological improvements which are more reachable to the public, many companies managed to upgrade and improve their image and service. In the case of Menara Maybank, they get to brighten up their external facade at night and for MFY to run of an image-capturing exercise; all made possible by reaching out to the right people with the right technology.
Menara Maybank Jalan Tun Perak KL was built in the mid 80s and till today still operates as the HQ for Maybank. It was considered to be one of the tallest buildings at the time with 54 floors above ground. For years they have planned to upgrade their current facade lighting system from traditional flood lightings to new LED lighting technology. It was a significant project in such that the CEO wanted to make sure that it was satisfactory and successful.
CHALLENGE
Given that the new LED technology is within the cost-effective range for Maybank, they then wanted to find a way to easily visualise this and compare its night-time performance. How will it look from a distance? To get all the right angles will take several teams around town to take evening still images of at least 3 scenarios. Therefore, it was a cumbersome exercise, let alone to capture 360° video footages.
SOLUTION
The solution was to hire the right person for the task. Fortunately, MFY’s principal owns, operates and pilots his own Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) a.k.a Drone. Within 48 hours, MFY was brought in for the shooting to be taken from the helipad level for the best launch and control point at midnight (in pic above).
RESULT
Several stunning RAW still images from all 4 sides of the building and 360° video footages were captured under 3 hours. The technical team involved that night was praised by the CEO for achieving more than what was expected. The UAV service by MFY was the right choice for them. Picture above shows the new LED.
